Who are our walk leaders?
Our leaders are people who love walking and sharing that love of walking with their fellow members. All our friendly leaders are volunteers who know the walk well and they will welcome you.
They may want to share with you their favourite walk, a place they know and love. Leaders may occasionally offer a themed walk that reflects their own special interest or hobby, pointing out things to look out for at the start of the walk, and they will try and answer any questions you have as we wander round.
They do all the map reading for you. They will have studied and walked the route beforehand, got the weather forecast and will advise on any conditions and safety issues, such as a path emerging onto traffic, at the start. They have the right to turn away people and dogs they think might compromise group safety. If you are in any doubt about your fitness, whether or not you are equipped for the walk or the weather or want to bring your dog along, or specific details of the route give them a call first.
You can find the name of walk leader and how to contact them by going to the Walks Programme tab and clicking on the walk you want to go on.
