Who are we?
We are people of all ages, from all walks of life and backgrounds who share one thing in common - our love of walking.
Some join the Ramblers to enjoy walking in friendly company, others to support our work protecting open spaces and footpaths, others for our role in encouraging people to enjoy the benefits and pleasures of walking.
We are a charity. Our officers and walk leaders are all volunteers. Some members are very knowledgeable about the interesting local and natural history you may spot on a walk, if you ever wonder 'what's that' or 'how do you do that' someone may know the answer.
Where are we from?
Many members live in the towns and villages that make up the borough of Telford & Wrekin including Wellington and Newport. Others are from East Shropshire, what was Bridgnorth District Council, Albrighton, Bridgnorth, Broseley, Cosford, Highley, Much Wenlock, Sherrifhales, Shifnal and surrounding areas.
Many of our walk leaders know their local patch, its legends and its people and have lived here all their lives. Others may be newcomers, looking around with a fresh explorer's eye, finding new things and paths in what others thought were familiar, well trodden areas. Every walk you will discover something new.
