NEWS FLASH Telford & East Shropshire Ramblers adopts the Hutchinson Way

Our Footpath Maintenance Group will adopt and look after The Hutchinson Way during 2017 clearing undergowth, improving signage and reporting  problems to Telford & Wrekin Council. This important long distance footpath links the towns of Wellington and Newport and connects with the Silkin Way, so by using these two paths one can walk on green ways to any part of Telford & Wrekin.

URGENT - PLEASE SIGN RAMBLERS' NETWORK RAIL PETITION

Some important and popular walking routes in Shropshire cross railway lines. Network Rail is rolling out nationwide level crossing closures, starting in East Anglia, closing rights of way without providing any safe alternative routes. Read about Ramblers response and sign the petition to safeguard these important rights of way and permissive footpaths. Ramblers is currently financing a legal challenge to Network Rail to protect walkers' rights, one of the many important campaigning activities your membership subscription helps to fund.

HELP SUPPORT SHROPSHIRE'S COUNTRY PARKS,  HERITAGE SITES AND RIGHTS OF WAY - JOIN THE NEW MEMBERSHIP SCHEME

The team at Shropshire Council that manages our rights of way, country parks and heritage sites needs to maintain services when funding to Local Authorities is being cut. Their activities are important for all walkers. You can demonstrate your support for their efforts by joining their new membership scheme which also gives you significant money saving benefits if you visit our country parks and heritage sites regularly and attend any of their events such as hands on wildlife identification walks and much more, you can find out about the scheme  here.
